Rise Above the Clouds Summer Camp
Rise Above the Clouds exists for foster youth, by foster youth. We know that foster care removes the child from the problem — but not the problem from the child.
That’s where we come in.
Our trauma-informed, research-based summer camp in Prescott, Arizona is designed specifically for youth impacted by foster care and complex trauma. Through nature immersion, nervous-system regulation tools, mentorship, and community connection, we help youth become Calm, Curious, Confident, and Connected — our 4C framework for resilience.
Camp isn’t just a week away. It’s a shift.
Guardians and caseworkers have reported improved emotional regulation, healthier food and lifestyle choices, stronger peer relationships, and increased self-confidence after camp. Staff notes consistently reflect youth taking risks in healthy ways — trying new activities, using grounding tools independently, resolving conflicts with words, and expressing pride in who they are. Many campers leave with a new belief: I matter. I belong. I can do hard things.
Our team includes trained professionals, social science practitioners, and mentors — many with lived experience in the foster system — who understand trauma not just academically, but personally.
